I’m Open & Transparent: My Voicemail Policy (You Need To Know!)

In today’s fast-moving world, communication is everything. Whether you’re building a business, connecting with clients, or simply strengthening community ties, how you handle calls and messages says a lot about your professionalism and integrity. That’s why I want to share my voicemail policy—loud and clear—with my friends, neighbors, and business partners here in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Yes, I’m talking about voicemail. It may seem like a small thing, but when you value time and relationships, every detail matters.

My Voicemail Policy

  1. I Don’t Screen Calls—But I Do Prioritize Messages
If I don’t answer right away, it’s not because I’m ignoring you. I may be in a meeting, working on a project, or spending quality time with my family. Leave me a voicemail, and I’ll listen carefully and get back to you based on the urgency.

  2. Text > Voicemail for Quick Responses
While I respect voicemail, I find text messages are faster and more effective for quick turnarounds. If you want a same-day reply, a text will almost always reach me quicker than a voicemail.

  3. Clear + Concise Wins
Please leave your name, reason for the call, and the best way to reach you. A 15-second message is way better than a 3-minute ramble.

  4. Transparency is Key
I’ll always be upfront with you. If I can’t help or if I’m not the right fit for your request, I’ll say so directly. Honesty saves us both time.

Why This Matters in the Twin Cities

Here in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the surrounding suburbs like Fridley, community and connection matter. People appreciate when you’re straightforward. In business networking circles—whether at a local coffee shop in Northeast Minneapolis, a chamber of commerce mixer in St. Paul, or a casual pizza meet-up in Fridley—trust and transparency are the glue that hold professional relationships together.

As someone who has lived in Fridley, Minnesota, for most of my life, I know how important it is to keep communication clear and respectful. It’s part of the “Minnesota Nice” culture, but with a professional edge.

Why I’m Sharing This

I believe in setting clear expectations. When you know how I handle voicemail (and communication in general), you don’t have to wonder or make assumptions. It’s part of my personal and professional brand as MagicBrad—open, transparent, and focused on building real connections.

So, whether you’re a business owner in downtown Minneapolis, an event planner in St. Paul, or a neighbor right here in Fridley, you now know exactly how I handle my voicemail.

👉 Your Turn: Do you have your own voicemail policy? Or are you one of those who never listens to voicemail at all? Let me know—I’d love to hear how you handle communication in today’s busy world.
